SunTrust Login For New Users

If it’s your first time using SunTrust Online Banking, you will need to enroll a new online banking account to manage your debit card, credit card or other banking accounts. You must first have opened a card or account with SunTrust, which you can do in person or by phone.

  1. Click the second blue link at the bottom of the page: “Sign Up Now”.
  2. Click the circle beside the type of account you have (Debit, Credit or Account).
  3. Click the blue “Begin Enrollment” button.
  4. You will need your SunTrust debit card number, PIN and Social Security Number (for debit cards), or SunTrust account type, account number, Social Security Number and ZIP code (for accounts), or your SunTrust credit card number, expiry date, security code (on back), Social Security Number and ZIP code (for credit cards). Type in all boxes.
  5. Click the blue “Next” button.
  6. Type a user ID into the first box. It must be between 8 and 25 letters and/or numbers long, with no spaces.
  7. Type a password into the second box. It must be between 6 and 20 letters and numbers long, with no spaces. At least one number and at least one letter is required.
  8. Type the password again into the third box to confirm.
  9. Click on the fourth box and choose a security question.
  10. Type the answer to your security question in the fifth box.
  11. Type the answer to your security question again to confirm in the sixth box.
  12. Click the blue “Online Services Agreement” link to open the file and read it.
  13. Click the box beside “I accept” at the bottom of the screen to confirm that you have reviewed and accepted the Online Services Agreement.
  14. Click the blue “Next” button.
  15. Type your email address in the first two boxes.
  16. Click the gray slider “No” if you prefer to receive paper statements. The slider will turn green and read “Yes”.
  17. Click the blue “Complete Enrollment” button.
  18. A confirmation page will show you your selections. Click the blue “Continue to Online Banking” button at the bottom of the page to view your accounts.

SunTrust Login For Existing Users

If you have previously enrolled for SunTrust Online Banking, you can sign in now to manage your debit card, credit card or other accounts. If you cannot remember everything you need to log in, see instructions in the next section to get your User ID or a new password.

  1. Type the User ID that you selected when enrolling into the first box.
  2. Type the Password that you selected when enrolling into the second box.
  3. If you are on a secure computer, click the box at the bottom to remember your login credentials next time you visit the SunTrust Online Banking Portal.
  4. Click the blue “Sign On” button.

If you’ve forgotten your user name or password:

If you have already opened a SunTrust account or card and have enrolled in SunTrust Online Banking in the past, but can’t remember everything you need to log in, follow these instructions. The portal will remind you of your User ID or help you reset your password so you can manage your SunTrust debit card, credit card or accounts.

  1. Click the first blue link at the bottom of the page: “Forgot User ID/Password?”
  2. Click the circle beside the statement you need help with:

If you forgot your password:

  1. Click the first circle beside “I forgot my Password”.
  2. Click the blue “Next” button.
  3. Type your User ID in the first box.
  4. Type your Email address in the second box.
  5. Click the blue “Reset Password” button.
  6. An email will be sent to you with a link to set a new password.

If you forgot your user ID or both your User ID and password:

  1. Click on the second circle for “I forgot my User ID” or the third circle beside: “I forgot both my User ID and Password”.
  2. Click the blue “Next” button.
  3. If you have a debit card, click the first circle beside: “Use my SunTrust Debit Card to verify my identity.” If you don’t have a debit card, click on the second circle beside: “Use My SunTrust Security Question to verify my identity”.
  4. Click the blue “Request User ID and Reset Password” button.
  5. You will need your social security number and either your SunTrust Debit Card or SunTrust account number if you do not have a debit card. Type in all fields. Type your PIN (for debit card users) or answer to your security question (for account-only users).
  6. Your User ID will be provided and an opportunity to set a new password provided. You can now return to Step 1 to sign in.
